Pierre-Henri Rougeot, now in his late 40s, has become one of Meursault’s most compelling producers. His family’s domaine has deep roots in the village, and over the past two decades he has shaped a style that is both classic and distinctly his own.
Cork Note: A tiny walled monopole in the heart of Meursault village, right outside Rougeot’s cellar, with only 6–8 barrels made each year. 55-year-old vines in clay-lime marl. ~225 cases total production. Barrel fermented and aged 15 months. Bottled unfined, unfiltered. ABV 13.5%.
Tasting note:
• Nose: Salted caramel, green apple, custard, honeycomb, beeswax, green mango, chamomile, toasted hazelnut.
• Palate: Dense and textural, beeswax richness, citrus oil freshness, saline lift. Medium-long finish with spice and chalky grip.
