september 10th - 6:30pm

we’ll be pulling the cork on two bottles matt sourced through the commanderie de bordeaux, an international group dedicated to the wines, people, and culture of bordeaux. expect plenty of stories along the way, along with the kind of first-hand context that makes these bottles even more fun to taste.

we’ll also pour two wines from a new generation of winemakers pushing bordeaux in fresh directions. organic farming, less common grape varieties, and a different approach in the cellar are all changing what the region can look like in the glass.

and of course, no cork bordeaux tasting would be complete without a few back-vintage bottles from serious estates. we’ve tucked away something special for the occasion.

wine 101: blind tasting

a crash course in tasting wine blind! join us as we explore traditional grapes and what makes them so unique.

every spring, cork and bow valley athletic club host the annual wine snob open, where wine pros, novices and enthusiasts from across calgary put their noses and palates to the test to answer one important question: who is calgary’s top wine snob?

every wine snob needs somewhere to start. In this blind tasting class, cork’s matt stortz will guide guests through a flight of eight wines and teach the fundamentals of tasting blind. with each wine, we’ll explore the colours, aromas and flavours that make different grape varieties distinct, along with the clues that can help you identify them in the glass.

cork dinner series: burgundy's maison louis jadot

october 20th - 6:30pm

team cork will be joined by jadot’s north american export manager and global export director for an evening of food, wine, and fun.

maison louis jadot is one of burgundy’s most recognizable and respected names, and we’re very excited to open some incredible bottles.

we’ll be pouring across the spectrum of what jadot does so well: bottles you can open without overthinking it, up-and-coming sites, and serious juice from burgundy’s most prestigious vineyards and appellations.

our biggest champagne celebration is back for year two, and we’re popping even more corks.

we’ve spent years building one of the most exciting champagne selections around, and this is the night we get to put that obsession in one room.

this is canada’s biggest champagne-only tasting: 25+ champagnes - no cava, no prosecco, no crémant, no sparkling wine padding. this is 100% champagne, and it’s our marquee event of the holiday season.

last year’s event sold out weeks in advance, so don’t leave this one too late.
