Meet Our Chief Wine Geek

Cork’s General Manager, Matt Stortz, began his wine journey over 20 years ago as a server in the restaurant industry. During his time in hospitality, he developed an all-consuming passion for the world of wine. Matt's diverse experiences as a bartender, wine importer, and wine director instilled invaluable knowledge, bolstered by first completing his WSET 2 with Distinction and later his WSET 3 with Merit.

A true advocate for making wine accessible, Matt takes pleasure in demystifying the subject and cultivating enjoyment for wine enthusiasts of all levels. His philosophy is simple: "There is never the best wine; there is the right wine for today." This principle underscores the belief that wine need not be expensive to be delightful.
