Chalk Hill is an AVA of Russian River, Sonoma, California and Rodney Strong was the first to plant Chardonnay grapes here. Using a moderate amount of new French Oak, he allows for this wine to showcase its terroir. Extended leese contact leads to a creamy texture. On the nose you will find bright meyer lemon, pineapple, poached pear, vanilla wafer and oak spice. The mouthfeel is round with a nice amount of acidity. Perfect for those who gravitate towards rich whites but are looking for something food friendly.
