Silvio Nardi’s winemaking is rooted in finesse and terroir expression. It's a labour of love to vinify their 36 plots separately. Micro-vinification allows their team to capture the unique personality of each site. The final blends are crafted with the help of famous Bordeaux consultant Eric Boissenot. Marco said his expertise in blending brings polish and harmony to the wines. Also of note - no new oak is used! Even the smaller barrels for the single vineyards (225L barriques) are seasoned - Marco joked that this saves the estate a fortune on barrel costs.
From NW-facing galestro soils (rocky clay) with less sun exposure, this was unreal in both intensity of aromatics and finish length. The nose was deep and brooding - blood orange, morello cherry and earth - with a perfume I couldn’t stop nosing. Wildly expressive, this was the standout of the younger wines and has a beautiful evolution in front of it. Surprising given it's youth and vintage, but no less impressive
