UCCELLIERA BRUNELLO 2015 RISERVA
This property is arguably one of the handful of top producers in Montalcino today. Located in the warm southern part of the Montalcino zone, it was until 1986 part of the neighboring Ciacci Piccolomini estate; it is a small property, only fifteen acres, now owned by Andrea Cortonesi. This is a practicing organic winery, and all the vineyard work here is done by hand. This Brunello is elegant and well balanced, powerful but clean and smooth, with aromas of walnuts and ripe fruit, chewy tannins, and a spicy finish.
