LE GRAS C'EST LA VIE CALADOC, CARIGNAN
Famille de Boel France is a small family estate owned and run by husband/wife Nelly France (from Brittany) and Arnaud De Boel (from Belgium) in Saint Joseph. Their project is born from passion, not from inheriting vineyards or a cellar. They met in 2009 in New Zealand, where their mutual love of food and wine brought them together, quickly igninting a love for each other. Nelly and Arnaud farm their biodynamic vineyards in the Northern Rhone (Saint Joseph and Cornas), and the Southern Rhone (near Suze-la-Rousse and Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes). Together, they craft exceptional wines to celebrate the marriage of food and wine with friends and family.
Le gras c’est la vie is a charming Rhône blend with freshness and vivacity, not to mention excellent value. Coming from a young plot of vines in the southern Rhône Valley, this is a hand-harvested blend of Carignan, Grenache, and Caladoc (a cross between Malbec and Grenache). Natural fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks. A bright and brambly nose leads to a palate that is exuberant with juicy red and black fruits, full of texture and spicy nuance with just enough grip to pair with a wide range of dishes. An excellent all-aroung table red.
